Commercial SoCal Water $mart Water Rebate Program

Commercial water conservation rebates available through Metropolitan Water District for LADWP customers.

LADWP, in conjunction with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD), offers the SoCal WaterSmart Rebate Program, a water conservation program for our commercial, industrial and multi-family owners (5 units or more) to promote the use of water conservation products. 

 

Landscaping and Irrigation

Large Rotary Nozzles

Up to $13 per head.
Qualifying nozzle retrofit must be purchased in an eight-head minimum.

Up to $6 per nozzle.
Must purchase a minimum of 30 nozzles to qualify for a rebate.

Soil Moisture

Up to $50 per irrigation controller station.
Must include a sensor and calibrator and an irrigation controller. Cannot be combined with a Weather-Based Irrigation Controller rebate.

Turf Replacement Rebate

$5 per sq. ft. for LADWP customers. Replace existing turf with California Friendly® plants, mulch, and/or rain capture. Application pre-approval required.

Free Trees: Up to 7 free trees available through City Plants.

Tree Rebates: LADWP customers participating in the Turf Replacement Rebate are eligible for tree rebates through this SoCal Water $mart rebate program.

Plumbing Flow Controls

Up to $5 per device (20 device minimum).
Plumbing flow controls are designed to maintain water pressure while reducing water flow in faucets and showers by up to 60%. Devices: 2.0 gpm or less, used under sinks or before the showerhead.

Dry Vacuum Pumps

Up to $125 per 0.5 Horsepower. 
Max 2.0 HP. Dry vacuum pumps are capable of creating an airtight seal without using water.

Food Steamer

Up to $600 per compartment.
Connectionless (pressureless) food steamers are water efficient and have no water line or sewer discharge line.

Up to $1,000. 
Replace a water-cooled ice machine for an air-cooled ice machine to save water.

Cooling Towers

Cooling Tower Conductivity Controller

Cooling Tower Conductivity Controller 

Up to $625.
A Cooling Tower Conductivity Controller will accurately transmit information to the blow down and makeup valves to assist in cooling tower maintenance and efficiency.

pH Conductivity Controller

Up to $3,000. 
A pH Conductivity Controller will allow you to upgrade your cooling tower water treatment by adding chemicals that control the pH in the system. In order to qualify for this rebate, a pH controller must also measure conductivity.

Toilets 

$300.
Must upgrade toilet from 1.6 gallons per flush (gpf) or greater to a 1.1 gpf or less. Premium High-Efficiency Tank Toilets must have a matching bowl and tank and premium High-Efficiency Flushometer Toilet must have both a qualifying bowl and a qualifying flush valve and both must be listed on the qualifying products list.

Urinals

$500. 
Zero and Ultra Low Water (0.0-0.125 gpf) Retrofit replacing ≥1.5 gpf urinal. Ultra Low Water Urinal rebates must have both a qualifying fixture and a qualifying flushometer valve from the list of qualified urinals.

How to Apply

All SoCal Water $mart applications must be submitted through the Metropolitan Water District SoCal Water $mart website.

All questions about the rebate application process should be directed to SoCal Water$mart at 1-888-376-3314.

As part of the rebate application process, you will be required to upload a copy of your recent LADWP water bill and a copy of your copy of the sales receipt (must include brand, model number, individual price, date of purchase and proof of purchase in full). Rebates are available only to the LADWP customer of record who is listed on the LADWP bill.
