Increased Incentives, Faster Processing: Energy Efficiency Programs To Relaunch

Making your business more sustainable while saving money is about to get easier when our commercial energy efficiency programs relaunch on July 1, 2024. With increased incentives, expanded measures, and updates intended to accelerate processing times, our relaunched programs will offer customers more ways and more reasons to save money and energy.

Among the updated and improved programs are LADWP Zero By Design (ZBD), which offers financial incentives for eligible commercial and high-rise multifamily new construction projects, and the Commercial Lighting Incentive Program (CLIP), which pays incentives for energy-saving lighting retrofits and controls.

July 1 will also mark a fresh start for the Custom Performance Program, which will rebrand as the Business Offerings for the Sustainable Solutions (BOSS) program in the relaunch. Even with a new name, BOSS will continue to provide incentives for energy savings achieved by implementing energy efficiency measures and installing eligible equipment.

Relaunch Highlights

Commercial Lighting Incentive Program: Among the measures eligible for higher incentives are lighting retrofits, which, depending on type, will be incentivized for up to $0.40 per kWh saved, an increase of 67%. Participants installing fixture integrated lighting controls will benefit from $0.20 per kWh saved, a 33% increase, while incentive rates for network lighting controls will fully double to $0.30 per kWh saved.

Zero By Design: Incentives for chiller upgrades will double, with program participants to receive $0.60 per kWh for those upgrades. Eligible measures also will expand in the relaunch to include electrification and horticultural lighting.

Business Offerings for Sustainable Solutions: Higher incentives than had been offered under the Custom Performance Program will be available. Among those, incentive rates will double to as much as $0.60 per kWh for HVAC upgrades and to $0.30 per kWh for appliance, plug and process retrofit projects. New measures eligible for incentives include electrification, horticultural lighting, and set lighting.
