Duties include:
- Preparing project scope of work documents, designs, plans, estimates, budgets, schedules,specifications, economic evaluations, reports, cost-benefit analyses, and construction work packages.
- Preparing structural engineering calculations and designs for reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry structures; computes hydraulic grades, pressures, operating characteristics, and line and grades; and performs geotechnical investigations for construction projects.
- Preparing feasibility studies and strategic plans for new water resource, evaluates innovative water technologies, and computes water losses.
- Performing quality assurance and inspection of construction work, material, and equipment.
- Preparing, evaluating, and administering contracts for equipment, material, and services.
Eligibility
- Graduation from a recognized four-year college or university with a degree in engineering; or
- Possession of a valid Engineer-in-Training Certificate recognized by the State of California Board of Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists.
