Do Not Touch! Report any object caught on utility lines Graphic, silhouette of mylar balloon caught in power lines.

Various objects can end up becoming entangled with utility wires for any number of reasons. People may throw things onto wires, loose balloons get caught, weather conditions could blow objects into wires, or trees can grow into them. These objects can pose a hazard to the surrounding communities and cause short circuits or power surges leading to large-scale power outages, melting of electrical wires, or even fires that can lead to potential injuries and property damage.

Stay Safe

If you see an object on a utility wire, DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE THE OBJECT. Please report the object immediately and stay away from it. Avoid touching the object yourself or with any other objects and keep children and pets away.

If the object causes a fire or a wire to fall, DO NOT TOUCH THE WIRE. Assume all wires are live and stay away. Call 9-1-1 immediately to report the fire or downed wire.
