Rebate Eligibility Requirements
- Applicant must be an LADWP residential customer with an active electric account.
- Rebate checks will only be issued to the LADWP account holder.
- Certain products must be Energy Star® rated to qualify for a rebate. Before purchasing your product, be sure to check product eligibility lists at energystar.gov or call 855-665-9469.
More on Cool LA AC Rebate
Income-qualified customers* are eligible to receive a rebate of up to $225 ($75 standard Efficient Product Market AC rebate + $150 limited time Cool LA rebate) for Energy Star rated Window and Wall Air Conditioning Units, and Title 20–compliant Portable Air Conditioning Units.
- *To qualify for the limited time Cool LA rebate, customers must have an active electric account on a discount rate (participating in one of the following programs: EZ-Save Program, Senior Citizen/Disability Lifeline Rate Program, Life-Support Equipment Discount Program, and Physician Certified Allowance Discount)
- Customers who are not receiving electric service on a discounted rate will receive the standard rebate of $75. To learn more or sign up for a discounted rate, visit ladwp.com/financialassistance.
- Customers may mix and match rebates but are limited to two (2) rebates for purchasing air conditioning units, regardless of type.
- Window or wall AC units are limited to 2 units every 10 years.
- Portable ACs are limited to 2 units every 5 years.
- The Cool LA air conditioner rebate is subject to change or termination without notice.

If you qualify for the additional Cool LA rebate, make sure to include the Addendum along with your completed EPM application.

Receive a rebate check in 8-10 weeks once your application is approved.
Applications must be postmarked within 12 months of the product purchase date.

Utility Built Solar (UBS)
In 1998, our Utility Built Solar (UBS) program began installing solar on City-owned rooftops and parking lots to prepare Los Angeles for the growing impacts of climate change. With over 47 projects, there have been 25 megawatts (MW) of solar installed making LADWP’s energy greener. This is equivalent to the pollution reduction of powering 7,622 homes or taking 3,086 cars off the road annually.
