Scattergood Unit 3 Decommissioning
The LADWP Scattergood Unit 3 Decommissioning Project is an 18-month dismantling of power plant facilities in compliance with South Coast Air Quality Management District regulations, which require the existing Unit 3 to be fully disabled.

Scattergood-Olympic Transmission Line
LADWP will construct and operate a new 230 kV underground cable system called the Scattergood-Olympic Transmission Line Project (SOTLP). The proposed transmission system will connect the Scattergood Generating Station (Scattergood) in Playa del Rey and Olympic Receiving Station (RS) in West Los Angeles.

Sylmar Ground Return System Replacement Project
LADWP is continually assessing the existing electric grid to provide reliable power to residents and businesses in the city. A key feature of the grid is a high-voltage direct current transmission system, known as the Pacific Direct Current Intertie (PDCI), which transmits bulk power between the Pacific Northwest and the Los Angeles area.

Upper Gorge Bypass Plant Project
The Upper Gorge Power Plant (UGPP) currently releases low flow water to the Owens River as part of the LADWP agreement with the California Department of Fish and Game (DFG).

Valley Generating Station Updates
Valley Generating Station (VGS), located in the Sun Valley community, is one of four in-basin natural gas fueled power plants. It has a capacity to generate 576 MW, about 6% of the City’s total power generation capacity.
